They're using the mannequin imagery again. They've returned to performing Showroom Dummies with accompanying videos on tour. I think the consistency is ongoing: the highly-staged and post-produced studio imagery of the group on TEE is succeeded by mannequins, then the group as mannequins, then the 3d digital wireframes of Electric Cafe which became the tron suits on Minimum Maximum and thereafter, not forgetting the actual robots themselves.

I bought my copy in 1980 and the glow was rubbish/subtle even then. What I noticed about the design is that the four robotic figures pose is an adaptation of the one from the earlier Showroom Dummies 12", a suggestion of more conceptual continuity than I had bothered to notice before. I used to think that there was an abrupt change after the TTE album, but I wonder now if that is more a rssponse to the packaging graphics (nostalgic monochrome vs strong red bias) and sonic improvements in recording/mix.

Thanks for the comment Richie. The disc does glow a bit, but it's fairly dim. My 9 and 11 year olds share their dad's love for the group. We're all going to see them at the Manchester velodrome in July, can't wait.

I purchased a copy of this ep also back in 78, if you hold it up close to a light and then turn the light out it should glow really bright. My kids now 26,23 and 18 were amazed that we had such 'technology' back in those days, I think they were hving fun with me, the youngest thought it was to quote'awsome'

I've seen a picture of that somewhere, but I thought it was a record company promo item and after a lot of searching I finally found the image and description. Definitely covetable if quite daft!
