Never was a huge Joy Division fan (another story) but looking at the original vinyl artwork, it is pretty sad how bastardized those forms have become…
Not a Joy Division fan Peter? It’s bred in the bone with me. Surely you admire the artwork though? Then again I can see why a person might not. Bastardized is the right word indeed. That this sort of exploitation would fit New Order’s dance/pop approach much better than Joy Division.
Even the layout on the back of that Zune looks compromised from a design perspective. Form and function I guess.

Agreed. Oddly, I just read recently a quote from Saville to the effect that with Joy Division, there’s just the two albums and everything else is merchandising.
