Notes | Many thanks to our guest poster Philip Rhoads for this one, Philip writes:
A hefty beast weighing 2.25kg, this 7 LP set beautifully combines the best aspects of Music Design and Bookbinding. Each record is placed into individual card jackets – each jacket bearing a specially commissioned drawing by Jeanie Lynn Paske, and the jackets are then bound into a linen covered hardback book. The text on the spine is embossed and metallic stamped and the front of the whole package has an individual print sealed onto it. Inside the front cover is an original library card, individually numbered (this set was limited to 1000 copies) and signed by Matthew Cooper (Eluivium), Jeanie Lynn Paske and Jeremy Devine – with the owner of the set being the final name inscribed onto the card by Temporary Residence Records. It is this fine attention to detail that makes this set so utterly covetable and gives the owner the sense of having something uniquely beautiful. Inside the back cover is a stunning 12” X 36” pull out insert illustration with the final piece of artwork by Jeanie Lynn Paske, and the briefest of credits, printed in – fittingly – old Typewriter font. |
