Notes | Here’s another post documenting the wonderful Miles Davis complete studio recordings boxes released by Columbia over the last decade and a half or so. The outer case of this second instalment in the series is covered in material instead of the bare metal utilised for the Miles/Coltrane. The metal spine is gold in colour and the titling embossed into it. The black and gold looks sumptuous. The liner notes are extensive and the many images of the unlikely friends wonderful. The six discs present the music of these classic collaborations remastered and and as alternate takes. As with the other boxes it’s now available incredibly cheaply in a re-released book format. |
