Mount Kimbie

You can colour me a fan of Mount Kimbie’s work, well, at least their debut album, Crooks and Lovers (their singles don’t do so much for me). I’m also a fan of the artwork of the first album which suited the duo’s delightfully contemporary take on the experience of summer in the (south London) city:

Their subsequent EP, Carbonated, continued the theme:

Which makes the front cover of their sophomore release, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth all the more disappointing. Granted, the new album sees Mount Kimbie diversifying musically, but to these ears it’s still suffused with a sense of place that’s lost to this abstract, Matisse-like design:

  9. When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added
I get three e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove
me from that service? Thank you!

  10. Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The text in your article seem to be running off the screen in Opera.
I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with
browser compatibility but I figured I’d post to let you know.
The design look great though! Hope you get the problem solved soon. Kudos
