Interruption to service

Please accept our apologies for the irregular posting schedule at the moment – life in the form of a house move, study deadline, work hassles, etc is taking its toll. We hope to get things back on the road as soon as possible. In the meantime, you may be aware that Hard Format’s a huge fan of Kraftwerk. We’ve been enjoying the individually remastered CDs, but it’s the deluxe Katalog box that we’re most impatient for. Here’s a pic from a lucky soul who’s received an early copy. Mouthwatering…

We believe it’s due out sometime around the 8th November and we’ll be covering it in full here when we get the chance.

Kitchen got in touch after we published our post about Trumn Records’ Yui Odonera and Tamaru which they art-directed. This is the first of two posts covering their initial releases which are in a rather wonderful accordion design. Two thick pieces of card provide the outer sides and are held together by a length of folded-over paper. Resonant images abound: sunsets, hazy evenings, sunlight sparkling on water, but who are the two girls looking out across the water and who is the little boy along on the grass bank? The CDs are held in paper wallets tucked into the accordion package. The only textual information – apart from the information sheet and the CD envelope – is spied in small type at the bottom of the rear cover. All in all, this is a highly original and memorable design.

No nonsense presentation of knife in head image. No more need be said. |
