| Raster Noton’s designs are the product of a design group of Olaf Bender, Carsten Nicolai and Ken Nibori. Their work is characterised by a minimalist design aesthetic which creatively explores typography, colour, material and form. Each release reveals close attention to both detail and the user’s interaction with the physical package itself. As a result of this, photography can only allude to the interactive aspects of the designs. The closest precedent to some of their work may be found in Peter Saville’s (PSA, Brett Wickens et al) die-cut designs for Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark. Bender releases music as Byetone and Nicolai primarily as Alva Noto although both work under other aliases. | |||
